Workforce Pathways
The Workforce Pathways Grant is funding by the California Department of Social Services. This funding is designed to align with the Quality Counts California (locally referred to as Steps to Quality) professional development system and to focus on local workforce needs across care settings. The Workforce Pathways goal is to support increased learning and healthy development of California’s young children by increasing the number of qualified Early Learning and Care (ELC) professionals and increasing the educational credentials, knowledge, and competencies of existing ELC professionals across the state.
The Workforce Pathways Program offers three pathways 1) Advisor 2) Professional Development 3) Education. Each pathway offers financial incentives to support achieving goals specific to the individual pathway.
Pre-Eligibility Participation Check:
- Participants must live in Butte County and work in a licensed early learning and care facility.
- The facility must provide subsidized care or accept voucher (alternative) payments through Valley Oak Children's Services.
- Priority for participation is given to individuals whose facility is participating in Steps to Quality
The Workforce Pathways program application opens annually in September and closes when anticipated capacity is reached in October. The information sheet and link to the application will be posted on the Great Start Butte Padlet.
